Ravenari uses this blog to post selected pieces from her past and recent works, along with commentaries, the occasional photograph, thoughts, and sometimes daily observations. Sometimes, she will talk about the works of other artists she admires. She’s trying to use it more often. Honest!

If you’re interested in purchasing prints or originals of any pieces, or finding out what is available for exhibition, please feel free to contact her at ophelias.diary@gmail.com, or comment with your email and she’ll get back to you as soon as possible.

When she’s not updating this blog, she’s updating Dreamwidth or DeviantArt, and when she’s not doing that, she’s playing with her cats, gardening (specialising in Western Australian natives), playing kick to kick, cooking, watching TV or criticising contemporary media, taking photos, writing, seeing her therapist and/or having doctor’s appointments for chronic (and chronically unfun) illnesses, or romping around the bushland going ‘oh look, never seen a weevil like that before!’
*
Last but not least, when she’s not doing any of the above, she’ll be creating new works of art in her studio. Usually with TV shows and Film, Ghibli soundtracks, or emo and indie music in the background.

You’ve also probably seen her frog sketch on the cover of Bee Paper’s 837 Premium Recycled Sketchpads if you’re in the US. You may have seen her artwork on the cover of DIY Totemism by Lupa, and you’ll see her artwork on the cover of an upcoming animism anthology (in which she has an article on Miyazaki’s Shinto-animistic themes). She’s got some exciting projects coming up in the form of having her art as the ‘face’ of a Western Australian made emu-oil, as well as a couple of other sekrit projects that will stay firmly sekrit!

Ravenari has also done a bunch of other eclectic things; from radio broadcasting, to interviewing YA authors like Glyn Parry. She’s currently working on her Master of Communications through Griffith University, and plans to outline three Science Fiction novels by the end of October 2011. She’s writing short stories and working on a personal oracle deck system, and basically is too damn busy for her own good!
Yay, I see a Moonvoice!
Just skimming by your site and figured I’d leave ya a quick note. Absolutely love the Dressmaking piece, but then I wish I could draw even half as well as you can =[
Catch ya on the LJ,
Wynnie (aka shadows_wolf06)
Aw thank you! Good to see you here!
dropping by, great stuff you’ve got there!
What an incredibly talented woman you are!
Love your self portrait in the Fragmented Self series.
Wow, thank you so much! I’m thinking about doing another self-portrait actually, since I’ve changed a bit since then, and I think I associate new colours with myself now. 😀
Hi Ravenari, Love your artwork and artwords – do you have an email address I can contact you on. If so, I’d love to run by a random little proposal. I can be contacted at Becksletters@yahoo.com.au, Regards Rebecka Darling-Darren
I’ve been looking for Lyre Bird interpretation wisdom and LOVE your writing, thank you so much for your wonderful work. Best wishes to you and your world, Nicola
Thanks so much, Nicola! Glad that Lyrebird resonated with you as well. 😀
Hi! I’m Harold. I wanted you to know, I found your work this past week, and it has inspired me to connect with my animal totems on new levels, and with myself. I very much needed both of these things. I’ve also begun to draw more animals, yay! Thank you for the great experiences, I have learned a lot. 🙂
Hiya Harold,
Thanks so much for getting in touch! So appreciated. But most exciting – you have begun to draw more animals. That is FANTASTIC. I love it when people find more reasons to be creative, since there can never be too much art in our beautiful world!
Stumbled upon your page via Lupa’s wordpress and I’m absolutely in love with your artwork – particularly your totem animals.
Keep up the amazing work! 🙂
Thank you so much! 😀 Glad you love the totem animals, it’s always good to meet other people who love working with animal energies! Wishing you the best; Rav. 🙂
That’s my pleasure 🙂
Yes, I’m reasonably new to it all but it comes so easily to me – feels like I’ve been doing it my whole life. Maybe I have been and haven’t noticed haha.

Hello again,
I was a online friend with you some years ago on a forum that I can’t remember the name of :). I think I went under the name of Gypsy at the time. I saw your print come up on my Facebook news feed and recognized the work immediately as yours. WOW, you have been very busy and I love your work. Its been lovely to see your work once again.
Blessings
LunaBlue (Gypsy)

Thanks for your interested though! ❤
I had the unusual experience today of a frilled neck lizard scratching on my glass door and trying to climb the glass and repeatedly dropping to the ground. When I moved to the other end of my room it ran to the corresponding glass door and did the same thing. Then I returned to original position and there it was again. It was really an overwhelming experience thinking that this normally shy creature was frantically trying to get MY attention. A mentioned it to a friend on email, in another country, and then within minutes I was reading your detailed and insightful words on what such an encounter means. It struck such a chord within me and was disarming and timely wisdom which I have truly taken on board. Thank you so much for having this wonderful information available. I then found your art which was exquisite I just had to write and tell you they were enchanting and mesmerizing. Thank you again. Julie x
I love your artwork and your website Wildspeak. May I link to your blog when I am talking about different animal energies in mine?
Here’s my blog. http://artichokeheartmetamorphosis.blogspot.com/
Hello, I recently found your Wildspeak site – I love it, love the art, love the words. Thank you for sharing. Had you thought of doing an oracle deck with the Australian animals and birds?
Hiya Pollyanna, I did for a while, but at the time – quite a few years ago now and before sites like Patreon – it was unfeasible in terms of finding the right publisher, graphic designer and more to help with the layout etc. I did end up making my own oracle deck but even that I haven’t used in years. Apologies! I’m glad you enjoy the site though.
What a shame (for all of us I mean). Perhaps one day …
Pia, me again. Still with PTSD…and still interested in the proposal I put to you all those years ago. The above comment reminded me of it. I wonder if we should try again…
Alas but I actually don’t do much artwork or public spiritual work anymore. I’ve shifted careers and focuses over the past three years in particular, and so perhaps the ship has – at least for now – sailed? Sorry to hear that you’re still with the PTSD though! It’s a pesky disorder.
I followed a few links from your wildspeak site to get to here – I just wanted to find an appropriate place to pass along a compliment. I really enjoyed what you had to write about magpies and ravens, and am looking forward to diving into a few more of your descriptions as time permits. Although it looks like your blog hasn’t been active for a while, I also plan to spend some time in here. Thank you for putting in all the time and energy you have into this project!
Hey Ravenari
Have you illistrated a deck of animal totem oracle cards that i can purchase please ?
Trying to find them online
Hi Ravenari
Just wondering if you do animal cards and also if you can identify my spirit animal for me?
Hi Ravenari, I can’t find your email address on wordspeak and I just wanted to say what a fabulous inspiration it is… I have loved learning more about the red tailed black cockatoo who visited me in a dream… and dingo too. I have a deck of animal medicine cards and they are primarily northern American animals … so lovely to be able to find words and deepens our relationship with our Aussie guides. Thankyou so much 🤗 bright blessings, Tracey
